Scholarship Coordination

I ran BestColleges’ annual scholarship program for student dedicated to advocating for underrepresented communities in STEM education. This included collaborating with legal, design, creative, and SEO teams as well as external partners. We built a scholarship around one of the key pillars of BestColleges’ brand, which is affordability.

With a focus on building authority and brand for BestColleges and equipping our readers with the information they need to succeed, my team collaborated with cross-functional teams to build a biweekly newsletter centered around higher education news and resource content from our in-house editorial team, showcasing our expertise in higher ed.

Building Become’s Brand

As an editor on LearnHowToBecome.org, I produced career guides and advice about education and the workforce. But something stuck out: Student loan debt was skyrocketing. At the same time, high-paying jobs in the vocational trades were in-demand.

We decided that to meet that growing need, we’d connect students with cost-effective educational options that have excellent ROI. That included transforming Learn How to Become’s brand from a generalist rankings site to Become, a site tailored for practical readers, focused on affordability and great jobs.
